THEERATHA VILAIYAATU PILLAI
Vishal’s back, trying to do what he does best — take the box office by storm — after two lacklustre outings in the form of “Sathyam” and “Thoranai”.
He plays the quintessential lover boy, and giving him company are Tanushree Dutta, Sarah Jane and Neetu Chandra.
The film, directed by Thiru, gets into the psyche of youngsters and expresses their thoughts on love and life.
AASAL
This high-on-gloss Saran film stars Ajith in twin roles. There’s a huge business empire in Paris at stake, and Ajith is pitted against his half-brothers, Sampath and Rajiv Krishna. Rajiv is kidnapped and Ajith rescues him, before he is double-crossed by the brothers and shot. He resurfaces in Paris and extracts revenge. Also starring Prabhu, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.
MY NAME IS KHAN
After the controversy, here comes the Khan. The Karan Johar film focusses on how the world looks at Islam post 9/11 through the life of Rizvan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), who has Asperger’s Syndrome.
He wants to meet the President of the U.S., and tell him that he’s a Muslim, and not a terrorist. Kajol (who plays the wife) returns after a hiatus, and Shankar Ehsaan and Loy’s music is already playing its part well.
